The Twelfth Cut
The Person Between The Timelines
The more time I spent away from the constant rush of timelines and deadlines, the more clearly I began understanding what this internship had really given me. At first, I thought I was only learning how to edit better. Better pacing, cleaner cuts, smoother transitions, faster workflows. But somewhere along the way, the learning became far more personal than technical.
I started noticing how differently I now observe things around me. Music no longer felt separate from visuals. Conversations began sounding like rhythm. Even ordinary moments started feeling cinematic in strange ways. A crowded café, sunlight falling across desks, people speaking over one another during meetings, someone laughing across the office during a stressful day. Editing had quietly changed the way I experience moments themselves.
I also realised how much confidence is built through repetition. Through showing up every day. Through making mistakes privately and fixing them before anyone notices. Through confusion slowly turning into familiarity. Looking back now, the overwhelming office that once felt too fast and too unfamiliar no longer exists in my head that way.
Instead, what remains are fragments of moments, conversations, people, exhaustion, excitement, and the feeling of slowly finding clarity within chaos. And maybe that is what this entire experience has really been about.
Not just learning how to create stories for brands and clients, but learning how to recognise growth while living through it.
